Engineered solutions for final disinfection of wastewater and industrial process water. Provides up to 99.9% elimination of pathogens, viruses, and bacteria without chlorine treatment or changes to the chemical composition of the water.
Advanced Environmental Solution for Water Disinfection
Ultraviolet disinfection is one of the most advanced and environmentally safe methods of water treatment. Unlike chlorination, UV radiation acts directly on the DNA of microorganisms, instantly preventing bacteria, viruses, and pathogens from reproducing. The process generates no toxic by-products and does not alter the chemical composition of the water, making it fully compliant with strict environmental discharge standards. PRIMELOS UV disinfection units are easily integrated into existing treatment systems and operate in fully automatic mode. Stainless steel housings and high-performance quartz sleeves ensure long service life and stable operation under continuous load conditions. The systems provide a compact and low-maintenance solution without the need for hazardous chemical storage or the constant presence of service personnel.

How Does It Works
UV Disinfection Process Overview
Operating Principle
Influent Water Supply: pre-treated wastewater enters the unit through the inlet connection.
UV Irradiation Process: inside the disinfection chamber, the water is exposed to intensive ultraviolet radiation.
Disinfected Water Discharge: after passing through the UV chamber, treated water exits through the outlet connection.
Disinfection Mechanism
UV radiation is absorbed by water molecules and microorganisms;
DNA and RNA structures of bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other pathogens are disrupted;
Reactive radicals with strong disinfecting properties are generated;
Microorganisms lose their ability to reproduce and are effectively neutralized.
Temperature sensors control the operating conditions inside the chamber;
In case of reduced flow or lamp overheating, the system automatically shuts down;
After lamp cooling and stabilization, the unit automatically resumes operation.
Operational Features
The system is designed to operate with pre-treated water only (after mechanical, biological, or physicochemical treatment);
Disinfection efficiency depends on water transparency, turbidity, color, iron concentration, and suspended solids content;
The unit automatically adapts to flow rate and temperature variations;
Periodic replacement of UV lamps (typically 1–4 times per year) and cleaning of quartz sleeves are required to maintain stable operating performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. The water must be sufficiently clear and free from excessive turbidity to allow UV radiation to effectively penetrate the flow. UV disinfection units are typically installed after sorption or fine filtration systems.
The systems are equipped with UV intensity sensors and operating-hour counters. The control system continuously monitors lamp performance and automatically indicates when lamp replacement or maintenance is required.
Yes. UV disinfection is one of the primary methods used in modern drinking water treatment systems and food-processing facilities due to its high efficiency and chemical-free operation.
