Operating Principle of the Grease Separator
A grease separator is a specialized treatment unit designed to remove fats and grease from industrial wastewater.
Primary Treatment
Wastewater enters the first chamber of the grease separator, where the flow velocity rapidly decreases and the water temperature drops. As a result, heavy mechanical impurities settle at the bottom, while non-emulsified fats remain on the surface.
Secondary Settling Stage
The cooled water flows into the second chamber through a special partition. The wastewater movement slows down significantly, and the cooling process continues. Emulsified fats return to their natural state, allowing grease particles to actively separate from the water and rise to the surface.
Discharge of Treated Water
At the final stage, the discharge occurs from the lower part of the second chamber. As a result, the most purified (heavier) portion of water enters the outlet, while grease deposits remain on the surface.
